When it comes to screen-time, Scarlett can't get enough of it. I am well aware of her adoration for the tablet, TV, and the computer. My husband and I try to limit her device time to as minimal as possible, although it isn't always easy! When Scarlett does watch her shows, she prefers education-based learning shows like Sesame Street or Daniel Tiger. PBS is one of her favorite networks to watch on our Roku. Their quality programming gets five stars from this mom.
If you're in the market for a child-friendly tablet that offers you worry-free content, the Playtime Pad from Ematic is a wonderful choice. Entertainment will be at your child's fingertips thanks to the Playtime Pad's 7" HD Kid Safe Tablet. The tablet comes pre-loaded with over 23 PBS games including 120 video clips, songs, and music videos. Parents everywhere will love the learning rich content teaching reading, math, and more. The ability to set parental controls to manage and customize your child's experience is available. A protective silicone case and ergonomic design provides increased durability and a secure grip. Little ones everywhere will love bringing their favorite PBS content with them everywhere and anywhere. Keep this tablet in mind for a special birthday present for a lucky boy or girl.
When the tablet arrived, Scarlett immediately wanted to plug it in and use it. It says to charge for 6 hours, but ours was ready before that and she was able to use it while plugged in. Once it was up and running, she recognized the PBS logo and was thrilled to learn that many of her favorite PBS shows were included in video clips and games. It's very easy and self-explanatory to register your tablet and get it going.
Scarlett initially mentioned the tablet's screen size and thought it was small, but it's probably because she's used to our Amazon tablet's larger screen. I see no problem with it and the compact size is perfect for little hands to hold and grab. The kid-safe rubbery exterior is ideal for bumps and falls. I do want to purchase a screen protector for it soon to prevent cracks and scratches.
The tablet itself offers a bright and vivid touchscreen that children will love. As Scarlett used it, I noticed that the operating system was fast and didn't lag at all. She had no issues touching whatever app she wanted to use.
Parents will enjoy the educational games offered for children which range from teaching numbers and letters to spelling, science, and more. Scarlett really was partial to Peg and Cat's Hair Salon game. What little girl wouldn't love doing hair?
If your little one is looking to just have some fun on their own terms, the painting app is perfect for that. Your child will enjoy letting their creativity and imagination soar and make their master pieces come to life. Afterwards, why not take some silly pictures together on the built in camera?
WiFi is required for the games and the videos, but the camera and painting app does not. Since the tablet is small, it's perfect for putting in a case and traveling with on a plane or car. Fun can be had wherever there's WiFi! I look forward to seeing what Scarlett learns from this educational tool.
If you're looking for a wonderful tablet that your children will use for years to come, it's time to introduce them to the Playtime Pad from PBS!
