Fast forward 3 years later and my child's possessions seem to take over the house completely. You'll walk into the kitchen and see a fake lemon on the floor and it's not uncommon to find fake vegetables or Mr. Potato's head ear on the bathroom floor either. Even though my third level loft is a playroom, kids can't keep all their toys contained! My once spacious house doesn't feel as large anymore.
I routinely like to purge and get rid of clothes and books for example as much as I can. Frequently, I'll give away Scarlett's outgrown clothing to my friend who has a daughter 18 months younger than Scarlett. I save my favorite outfits and then give the rest away. It's impossible to keep everything. My husband doesn't share my let it go philosophy as much as I do, even though I wish he did. Yesterday, we were able to go through the garage and organize it better as well as get rid of unwanted items. It makes you feel good to get rid of things you don't need anymore and have more room!
As it gets warmer, I'd like to spend a weekend morning cleaning out closets and getting rid of old clothes and shoes. I haven't had the opportunity to do that in quite some time and I know there's a lot I can donate.
Are you doing spring cleaning this year? What are you most looking forward to getting rid of?
