It definitely feels like she's been home more than just three short weeks. My husband and I are really enjoying her and love being her parents. She has a lot of personality already and I can't wait to watch her grow and change. All of her "firsts" are going to be so exciting. I'm most looking forward to seeing her smile and laugh and of course walk and talk too. I love talking to her and interacting with her, she's such a fun girl. We will really enjoy her even more in a few months when she's older and can play with toys.
We had a pediatrician appointment today and Scarlett is now 9 lbs 5 oz. Just one week ago she was only 8 lbs 10 oz, so she gained half a pound in a week! I thought this was a lot, but the doctor was not concerned at all. Scarlett is healthy and right on track for everything which puts my mind at ease. I also started giving her gripe water for her gassiness which seems to be working. It's such a pleasure to not have her scream and be in pain from gas!
Everyone says she'll be all grown up before we know it. I'm trying to remember every detail about these early days, even when I'm sleep deprived and feeding her at 3 AM. I've been filling out her baby book in great detail and I try to update it as much as I can. Scarlett will want to know information about when she was a baby and I also plan on writing her a letter as well. I've saved everything so far including ultrasound pictures, baby cards, hospital bracelets, and her birth card from the hospital. I'll be putting all of this into a special box to save for her.
She loves to be in her swing and is most happiest there. Halo Sleepsack Swaddles are very big in our house and Scarlett loves to be swaddled as tight as possible. I think I actually just ordered her sixth one from Ebay. She is swaddled practically 24 hours a day and doesn't like her arms to be free. She is a big eater and can drink her bottle in record speed. She eats every 3-4 hours currently. When Scarlett isn't sleeping, she is content to hang out in her pack and play and just look at the world around her.
I can't believe she'll be a month old next week!
Here are some recent pictures of my angel girl:
How precious.
ReplyDeleteShe is just beautiful and everything you say reminds me of my daughter at that age. She LOVED her swing. And HAD to be swaddled. So happy you were able to stop her gas. I cant imagine how painful that must be for them. You have so much joy to come.
