Trex Review and Giveaway

Now that warmer weather is here, it's time to start thinking of warm weather activities.  I know sitting outside in sandals and shorts may seem like far off, but it's really not! Start planning those summer bbq's that include fabulous food, lots of laughter, and of course fantastic friends. Whatever you do, make sure your company is sitting around a Trex outdoor table.

Trex Outdoor Furniture is made from high-performance, recycled milk jug lumber. It's soft to the touch, but tough against the most extreme weather, including sun, rain, saltwater and snow. It's incredibly low-maintenance, so you can spend your time relaxing on our furniture, not refinishing it. I love to browse all of the different outdoor furniture sets on Trex's website, each one is nicer than the last! I won't be in my current apartment too much longer, so I'm starting to think of houses and backyards.  Of course you have to fill a backyard space with outdoor furniture, right?

When I had the opportunity to review an outdoor furniture set, I was extremely excited. Since I'm still in my apartment at the moment, it would have to be stored at my parents' house temporarily.

I received the magnificent Monterey Bay 5 Piece Dining Set in Treehouse (which is a dark brown shade.)

How fantastic is this set? I love it! Can't you just imagine sitting outside on a hot summer's day at this table drinking a refreshing lemonade? I know I can! The chairs and table are solidly constructed and very heavy.  The set is made from solid HDPE recycled lumber and is built for durability, low-maintenance and lasting good looks.  Since it's not made from wood, the furniture won't rot crack or splinter, how awesome is that? Leave the set outside all year round with not a care in the world!

The dark brown shade of the set is extremely attractive and a fantastic neutral shade.  I knew I didn't want white furniture because you can see the dirt easily on it.  The chairs are not flimsy at all, but very sturdy.  I put green cushions on the chairs which make them more comfortable.  The table is 48" and resists food and beverage stains.  I love the large surface of the table which is very conducive to outdoor parties and dinners.

I know you can't see it from the picture, but there is a plug in the center of the table which opens up to allow you to place an umbrella inside it.  I have not bought an umbrella for the set yet, but that's on my to-do list.  The umbrella will be mandatory for blocking out that hot summer sun at your pool party or BBQ! I like that you can take the umbrella out at your convenience instead of it being attached to the table.  With this option, the umbrella won't get wet from a storm, etc.

This set is fantastic and I feel very lucky to own it. I really like the fact that it's made from recycled materials, that's unique as most furniture isn't.  If you're looking for new outdoor furniture, or your first set, I highly recommend Trex.
