Long Grove Popcorn Review and Giveaway

Popcorn is such a great, simple snack. I personally like hot air popped because it is lower in calories and has a great wholesome taste to it. Popcorn can be jazzed up in many ways though, butter, salt, seasonings, and more. I've seen it consumed in so many unique ways too! It's hard for me to sometimes turn down butter or cheesey popcorn though. Hey, I'm only human though! I do like trying new and interesting flavors though.



Long Grove Popcorn Company is a family owned and operated store located in the historic and quaint village of Long Grove, Illinois. Their delicious popcorn is made the old fashioned way by using quality ingredients. Theyoffer a variety of delicious popcorn flavors for you to choose from, available in bags or decorative tins.

Popcorn is the perfect gift for any occasion. I've never met anyone who doesn't like popcorn. I bet receiving a large tin filled with their favorite popcorn is guaranteed to make their day. Whether you prefer cheddar, chocolate drizzle, kettle corn, or cheese, they have the original classics for you. They also have some unusual and interesting flavor combinations that you wouldn't think would be featured in popcorn, such as: cheesy pizza, blue raspberry, black cherry, cheese and caramel, dill pickle, salt and pepper, pickle pop, and apple.

I was sent 8 small variety bags of popcorn to review. I received 2 bags of cheddar, chocolate drizzle, cheesy garlic, cheddar bacon, kettle, strawberry, and butter. I could smell the butter and cheese before I even fully opened the package. It smelled fabulous!



Wow! Is this what popcorn heaven looks like? I think I won the popcorn lottery! I tried a few kernels from each bag just to get a taste for each flavor. I love that the popcorn is hand-made, it adds a special touch that store bought popcorn just can't live up to.

Strawberry- The popcorn is a bright shade of pinkish/red. It shocked me before I saw the label on the bag deeming it strawberry. Once I figured out what it was, it made sense! The popcorn has a very true and rich strawberry flavor. It tastes like you're actually eating strawberries, but in a crunchy manner. The popcorn is very fresh and is extremely crunchy.

Bacon Cheddar-I didn't care for this flavor at all. While I am a fan of bacon and cheddar, I don't like them together. The bacon flavor is very prevalent and strong, it's the first thing I notice when I tasted it. The flavor of the bacon is very smokey. The bacon does subside and you can taste a subtle layer of cheese underneath that isn't as strong though. I think that this takes some getting used to, but the flavor could potentially grow on me. The color of the popcorn was a nice mix of a yellowish/orange.

Cheddar-Two words, simply wonderful! Cheddar has always been my favorite flavor of popcorn. The flavor of the cheddar is very present and leaves you longing for more long after you've allowed yourself a small amount. The cheddar has such a strong rich flavor which I really love. It's beyond delicious. You must try it if you ever have the chance. The color was an excellent golden yellow.

Chocolate Drizzle-Simply put, AMAZING! I only had two pieces because I am on a diet and I do want to keep the weight off, and chocolate is a huge weakness of mine. The chocolate is evenly distributed throughout the caramel popcorn and the bag too. I love that each piece has such an even balance of caramel and chocolate, which is the perfect combination I might add. The chocolate was rich and sweet and just excellent. The caramel popcorn was sweet, but not overly sweet. The combination of the chocolate and the caramel together with a perfect crunch was like nothing else I could ask for. I wish I could have frozen time just to enjoy that fabulous popcorn for one second longer! The color of the chocolate was a perfect deep brown, and the caramel was a great toasted brown color.

Cheesy Garlic-The first thing I noticed when I sampled a piece was the strong smell of garlic. This popcorn is a must for any garlic lovers. Trust me, you will love it. The garlic and cheese together is a very interesting combination. The cheese isn't as strong as the garlic flavor but somehow there is an equal balance of both flavors in each bite once you get used to the initial bite of garlic. The color was similiar to a golden yellow of the butter flavor.

Kettle Corn-I am not a big fan of kettle corn, but will eat it if there is nothing else around. It is the perfect combination of sweet and salty, but just really not my thing.

Butter-The butter popcorn had just a hint of butter flavor. I wish the flavor was a little bit stronger because I do really like butter flavored popcorn. The color was a perfect golden yellow though.

Thanks to Long Grove Popcorn I have been introduced to a fabulous company and have tasted some fantastic popcorn!
