I was going to make mashed potatoes last week and I realized after I bought the potatoes, that I didn't have a vegetable peeler. Back to the grocery store I went to buy one. This peeler is great! I love the attractive black bottom and it is very easy and comfortable to grip and hold while you are peeling. The blade is sharp and will peel whatever food you need quickly and easily. I peeled a carrot last night for a salad and the carrot was a breeze to peel. I've used peelers before where you practically dislocate your arm out of its socket trying to thoroughly peel something, but not with this peeler!
