Cloverleaf Pizza Review and Giveaway

Pizza is one of my favorite foods. Although I am not too adventurous and just usually stick to plain cheese, but pepperoni sometimes. I like to buy Boboli's store bought pizza dough and make my own pizza. By doing this I can control how much cheese and sauce goes on it, and make it a little bit more figure friendly.

One day I was on the computer and a thought popped into my head to google companies that ship pizzas through the mail to review for my blog. I stumbled upon Cloverleaf, which is a pizza restaurant that is located in Detroit, Michigan. CL said yes, and I picked a pizza package that consisted of 3 pizzas of cheese and pepperoni variety.

Cloverleaf has a dine in option, take out option, and of course pizza delivery service anywhere in the world! How cool is that? This pizza company prides itself on being "Detroit style award-winning original and famous deep dish pizza." There are four different pizza packages that you can choose from when ordering.
1.PACKAGE #1: VARIETY PACK
Three 6"x7" Deep Dish Square Pizzas
(1-Meat Supreme, 1-Cheese, 1-Pep)

2.PACKAGE #2: CHEESE ONLY PACK
Three 6"x7" Deep Dish Square Pizzas
(Cheese Only)

3.PACKAGE #3: CHEESE & PEPPERONI PACK (This is the one I chose)
Three 6"x7" Deep Dish Square
(Cheese and Pepperoni)

4. PACKAGE #4: MEAT SUPREME PACK
Three 6"x7" Deep Dish Square Pizzas
(Pep, Sausage, Ham, Bacon)


As you can see they have a pizza choice for everyone's liking.

Well lo and behold, my pizza arrived today via USPS in dry ice. I thought to myself how cool that I have pizza shipped all the way from Michigan. I've never even been to Michigan! 3 containers of marinara sauce accompanied the pizza. I promptly tossed them into the crockpot, added some seasonings and olive oil and cooked on low for 6 hours. It smelled delicious!

I made the pizza for dinner tonight. Here's a picture of it fresh out of the oven!


The pizzas break off into individual squares. One thing that I wasn't used to was that there is no sauce undernath the cheese, like normal pizzas. You have to put the sauce on it before you cook it. The instructions say not to spread it on, but I did after because I didn't want it clumped in one place. I thought the pizza was very good though. It is crispy, not chewy. Since it's deep dish pizza, there is more crust and less sauce/cheese. Underneath the cheese is the pepperoni. It had a great flavor. I like that you can individually make these pizzas one by one, instead of cooking a whole pizza at once. It's great for a quick lunch or dinner. I have a whole pack left, I'm sure they will be eaten soon!
